M&A Analyst

Overview: We are seeking a talented M&A Analyst to join our client's dynamic team. As an M&A Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and advising on potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of financial modelling techniques, including LBO (leveraged buyout), DCF (discounted cash flow), 3 Sheet Statements and general financial modelling. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact transactions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Modelling: Develop detailed financial models to evaluate the financial performance and potential synergies of target companies. This includes LBO modelling to assess leveraged buyout opportunities, DCF modelling to determine the intrinsic value of target companies, and other financial modelling techniques as required
  2. Valuation Analysis: Assist in the valuation of target companies using various methodologies, including comparable company analysis, precedent transactions analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis. Provide insights into valuation drivers and implications for transaction pricing.
  3. Transaction Support: Support the execution of M&A transactions from inception to closing. This includes assisting with deal structuring, negotiation support, preparation of presentation materials, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market developments relevant to potential M&A opportunities. Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on market research findings.
  5. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements, historical performance, and projected financials of target companies to assess financial health and performance trends. Identify key drivers of financial performance and potential areas for improvement.
  6. Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, operations, and senior management, to support M&A initiatives. Effectively communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
  • Experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, including LBO, DCF, and general financial modelling techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful insights.
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance principles, valuation methodologies, and M&A concepts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and modelling.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis tools/software.
