Financial Planning Analysis Manager

Reed Finance has partnered with a thriving retail business, supporting in the recruitment of a newly created Financial Planning & Analysis Manager opportunity.

This is a truly unique opportunity to join a dynamic organisation during a significant growth phase, with a focus on ensuring financial stability and growth. The role requires a practical, hands-on Chartered Accountant with excellent communication and financial modelling experience.

Ideally, you will have 3-5 years of post qualified experience, and currently working in a fast-paced manufacturing or retail business.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly forecasts and variance analyses to evaluate financial performance against budget and previous periods, while identifying key drivers of variances and providing actionable recommendations to optimise financial outcomes
  • Participating in annual budgeting process and longer-term financial planning and modelling
  • Collaborating with the wider Finance team during the month-end close process to ensure accurate financial reporting, with a focus on category and style gross margin and operational and central overheads, delivering financial insights and recommendations to improve performance
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas for operational improvement, working with key stakeholders to optimise the cost structure
  • Presenting financial results and insights to executive leadership in a clear, concise manner to facilitate data-driven decision-making
  • Partnering with senior management to provide financial support when assessing critical initiatives, investment opportunities, due diligence reviews and potential business risks
  • Collaborating with department heads to ensure that financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives, with a focus on driving financial discipline and operational efficiency
  • Developing and maintaining management reporting dashboards and key performance metrics to monitor business performance
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function, in particular, leverage automation and digitisation tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Ensuring effective use of financial planning tools and systems to improve efficiency.

Candidate

  • Chartered Accountant
  • Very strong analytical, financial modelling and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and build effective relationships with non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience of using data visualisation tools
  • Demonstrated experience in commitment to continuous improvement
