Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of own fleet and contracted sub contractors vehicles, including planning routes and allocation of workload
- Plan loads to ensure deliveries and collections are on time
- Operational Transport Compliance, including drivers hours legislation
- Deal and resolve and service issues or incidents
- Submit Transport updates to the Senior Management Team
- Health and Safety
Skills and experience required
- Previous Transport Planning experience is essential
- Experience of routing vehicles and excellent geographic knowledge of the UK
- Experience of building relations with both customers, suppliers and drivers
- Strong organisational skills with a flexible working attitude
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise workload are essential
- CPC Management Qualification or be willing to work towards preferred but not essential
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm plus additional overtime as and when required.
The successful candidate will be a confident and articulate individual with previous transport experience .
