What is the purpose of the Project Manager focussing on Wind generated technology?

Our Client is seeking a highly motivated and meticulously organized Project Manager to lead and oversee our forthcoming wind farm projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership and management skills, driving projects forward while upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Spearhead projects ensuring adherence to top-tier health, safety, and quality benchmarks.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical input and support during the project development phase, ensuring robust and comprehensive project planning.
  • Cost Management: Accurately estimate and diligently track project costs, ensuring budget adherence and financial efficiency.
  • Project Documentation: Develop detailed project programs, including wind farm site layout drawings, swept path analysis, and planning and legal documents.
  • Contract Management: Lead the procurement process, manage tendering, and negotiate design/construction contracts to secure favorable terms and outcomes.
  • Daily Oversight: Oversee day-to-day management of projects during both pre-construction and construction phases, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of project management processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

What skills and qualifications will you need as the Project manager - Wind Turbine?

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in managing onshore wind, civil engineering, or construction projects.
  • Approach: Methodical, accurate, and focused on process optimization.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial awareness to make informed financial decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder management and team coordination.
  • Organizational Skills: Superior organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD for drafting and design tasks.
  • Licensing: Possession of a full UK Driving License.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work on various sites across the UK, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Contract Knowledge: Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC construction contracts, enhancing contract negotiation and management capabilities
  • Transport and Construction Methods: In-depth knowledge of transport and construction methodologies pertinent to onshore wind projects.
  • Additional Technical Skills: Proficiency in Civil3D and MS Project for advanced project planning and management.
  • Surveying: Experience in surveying and setting out, providing valuable insights during the planning and construction phases.
