Customer Service Technician

Here at Watkin Jones, we are looking to appoint a Customer Service Technician to join the organisation. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager the successful candidate will be working on sites nationwide diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs in occupied buildings.

The role carries out duties and activities inside and outside with potential all-weather working throughout the year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Use of construction equipment, tools, and access equipment (after completing suitable training / instruction) in facilitating repairs.
  • Providing reports to the customer care department information on repairs.
  • Diagnosing faults and compiling a schedule of works to rectify defects.
  • Completing repairs to all aspects of construction, primarily working on multistorey residential buildings.
  • Liaising with customers to arrange works and feedback on repairs.
  • Organising sub-contract trades to complete repairs.
  • Working at height.
  • Using electronic and tablet and associated software to record repairs and receive appointments.
  • Complying with responsibilities as detailed in the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy and as explained in Site Health and Safety rules and procedures.
  • Complying with company policies, procedures, and instructions always.

About you:

Due to the nature of this role and the travel required a driving licence is essential. Additional to this we ideally would like to speak to candidates who have a construction trade NVQ and training in the safe use of equipment on a construction site. You must be able to display the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and have knowledge of building methods and construction materials. You must also be competent in carrying out repairs in a variety of construction trades and be able to communicate well with work colleges and customers.
