About the Role:
Academics Agency is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Phonics Intervention Assistant to support children with SEN in Chesterfield. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students who require additional assistance with phonics, helping to enhance their reading skills and boost their confidence in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted phonics interventions to students with SEN, tailored to individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to develop and implement effective phonics programs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages student engagement and success.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a phonics or literacy-focused role.
- Strong understanding of phonics instruction and strategies.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or SEN support are desirable.
- DBS on the update service or willing to get one.
