Production Engineer

We are seeking a Production Engineer for our client based in Cwmbran to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for manufacturing and a drive towards operational excellence. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting production processes, equipment, and New Product Introduction (NPI).
Day to Day of the role:
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards during NPI, equipment maintenance, and process documentation.
- Design and develop efficient cell layouts, process flows, and ergonomic fixtures using CAD and 3D printing.
- Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including Work and Test Instructions, Process Flow Charts, and Visual Management.
- Analyse existing systems and processes to develop accurate standard times and implement TACT/Kanban for production balance.
- Drive continuous improvement by staying informed about advancements in manufacturing technologies and identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
- Develop and support systems related to Route Cards, Labels, and Product serial numbers.
- Address Quality Alerts, process yield issues, and ensure equipment maintenance for optimal performance.
- Implement Visual Management strategies such as 6S and Gemba boards.
- Advocate for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) during design/development meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Production Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in manufacturing process engineering.
- Proficient in Lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
