Data Governance Analyst
My client, based in reading is recruiting for a Data Governance Analyst to support a long term transformation.
Length of Contract: 6- 12 months
Day rate: £350 - 450 per day depending on experience
Location: Reading - 2 days per week on site
The Data Governance Analyst will:
- Contribute to the organisation's data governance strategy and implementation.
- Support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives by ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
- Assist in data cataloguing and metadata management using tools like Azure Purview.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote data governance best practices.
The Data Governance Analyst's key responsibilities are:
- Support the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on data governance initiatives.
- Assist in enforcing data governance policies and ensuring compliance.
- Support MDM initiatives by ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Contribute to training and education on data governance and master data quality.
- Assist in monitoring data governance compliance and assessing control effectiveness.
- Support metadata management by documenting data lineage, definitions, and dependencies.
- Contribute to data governance council meetings.
- Assist in implementing the data governance framework.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Experience in data management and governance.
- Understanding of data governance concepts and frameworks.
- Familiarity with data quality and protection principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Desirable Experience and Skills:
- SQL scripting and database management systems (e.g., SAP, SQL Server).
- Data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Python, Power BI).
- Data quality tools (e.g., MDM Profisee, Purview).
- Understanding of big data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Data Factory).
