Salary: Dependent on hours24 hours = £18,000.00 - £21,000.0032 hours = £24,000.00 - £32,000.00
About the Company:
A well-established wholesaler. The company was established in 1906, and its main head office is situated in the centre of Wakefield.
Job Purpose:To maintain the day to day running of the Payroll department, ensuring that wages are processed in a timely manner, in accordance with HMRC regulations and company policy.
Roles & Responsibilities:· Responsible for the preparation and processing of the weekly and monthly payroll for circa 260 employees.· Responsible for the coordination of the processing of starters and leavers between payroll and human resources.· Handle the administration of the Time & Attendance system from a payroll perspective.· Establish and maintain employee records to ensure that employee changes are entered correctly onto SAGE.· Sending electronic payslips and other electronic documents i.e. P60's, P11D's etc, in accordance with the data protection and HMRC regulations.· Sending paper payslips to employees who have no email account.· Calculating maternity and paternity leave etc.· Weekly and monthly management reporting.· Month end management reporting.· Pension administration of the auto enrolment scheme, sending data via a CSV file on a weekly basis.· Processing attachment of earnings and other deductions from wages.· Changing tax codes.· Processing P45's and P46's.· Processing SSP and CSP.· Completing SSP1 forms.· Producing annual employee P11Ds and submitting P11D(b) for Class 1A NICs.· Completing payroll journal and balancing to P32.· Primary liaison with Auto Enrolment Pension provider.· Undertake any additional training appropriate and relevant to the performance of the role.· To comply with all H&S policies and procedures.· To undertake any additional duties in line with capabilities required.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good communications skills· Minimum of 2 years' experience of payroll processing· Experience of using SAGE 50 Payroll· Experience of using time and attendance systems· Good knowledge of using Microsoft Excel and Word· Experience of using Outlook· Ability to manage time and work to deadlines· Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
