Legal Secretary - Hybrid

QED Legal are currently looking for a legal secretary to join a legal 500 leading law firm in heart of the city centre.

As a legal secretary you will be expected to provide first-class support to partners and associates in a busy department, producing seamless accurate work and managing administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first contact for clients, handling queries and issues efficiently.
  • Develop knowledge of the Partners' and Associates' legal expertise.
  • Maintain confidentiality with clients and colleagues.
  • Understand the firm's strategy and align work with it.
  • Coordinate billing, credit control, and accounting for clients.
  • Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and prepare necessary materials.
  • Assist with marketing activities and event preparation.
  • Prepare client correspondence and documents.
  • Answer calls professionally, handling queries or taking accurate messages.
  • Support other Legal Practice Groups when necessary.
  • Develop role-specific skills and undertake relevant training.
  • Assist secretarial colleagues across offices as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experienced in high-level secretarial work with a solid understanding of law firm operations.
  • Professional with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, able to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Team player with a flexible and cooperative attitude.

Experience:

Minimum two years of legal secretarial experience (Employment team experience desirable but not essential).

Skills and Qualities:

  • Typing speed of at least 70 wpm, with high accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Confident communicator at all levels.
  • Proactive and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to motivate and train team members.
  • Enthusiastic team player willing to take on extra responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft

IT Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), PDF Docs, Word Compare (Deltaview), and document/practice management systems (training provided).
