This is a remote role that can be worked anywhere in the UK.

We are on a mission to be the partner of choice for developing people and their communities. Reed in Partnership is a public service provider specialising in skills training for the long-term unemployed, increasing employment opportunities by working with employers and providing youth services.

What is the role about?

Undertaking remote assessments referred from DWP. Each assessment will take place in an hour slot and will be the only contact the assessor has with the participant so ability to build rapid trust and rapport is key.

Assessing the complex individual needs in relation to wide range of conditions, from musculoskeletal to neurodivergence necessitating a flexible and adaptive approach.

Identifying barriers keeping them from a workplace and knowledgeably but sensitively recommend solutions ensuring that the participant feels fully involved and consulted in the process.

Remaining mindful that the participant may have been subjected to discrimination and stigmatisation and be reluctant to fully disclose certain information and ability to "read between the lines" and interpret needs accordingly.

Writing a detailed and highly accurate report in line with the DWP requirements ensuring minimal "rejected" reports. This will include tying with suppliers, obtaining quotations and sourcing the most commercially viable options.

Dealing with sensitive issues, participants who may have experienced stigmatisation and discrimination, compassionately, and sign posting accordingly.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include

  • Initial checks and fact-finding about the client's difficulties at work, from both the employee and their line manager/employer.
  • Checks and fact-finding about the client's specific role and working environment.
  • Review of any existing adjustments already in place.
  • Prepare a comprehensive written report of the findings and specific recommendations on suitable adjustments.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with

Essential Attainments & Criteria:

  • Minimum 1 years' experience in relevant equivalent role- assessing complex individual needs
  • Educated to degree level in related Health discipline, (psychology, OT, physio)
  • Ability travel with access to their own vehicle (potentially not applicable for London)
  • Willing to undergo enhanced DBS check

Desirable Attainment & Criteria:

  • IT literate (experience of PRAP desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of assessing a full complement of complex needs and using insight to read between the lines or interpret the participants needs
