We are seeking a Medical Secretary with a passion for detail and a desire to provide excellent administrative service. This role is perfect for someone with outstanding interpersonal skills and a high level of patient focus and quick typing speed. You will be supporting two Consultants at a private clinic in Harley Street, ensuring the smooth operation of their practices and delivering exceptional patient care.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide full secretarial support to 2 Consultants, managing patient and doctor interactions, and liaising with external organisations.
- Perform accurate copy and audio typing.
- Cover for team members during sickness and annual leave.
- Coordinate daily workflow, both on-site and off-site.
- Prepare patient notes for clinics and ensure all results and lists are ready in advance.
- Liaise with new and follow-up patients regarding appointments and requests.
- Handle appointment queries and arrange for blood tests and other investigations.
- Chase test results and process payments, produce invoices, and obtain pre-authorisations from insurance providers.
The successful candidate will have previous secretarial experience within a medical environment, experience in a private clinic would be advantageous as would an AMSPAR qualification. You will be proficient in touch typing/audio typing, have excellent customer care and communication skills and have experience with patient administration systems.
