We are seeking a Security Porter to join our team, providing a wide range of duties and responsibilities including emergency and safety procedures, car park management, reception duties, and more. The Security Porter is a key figure in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities and is often the first point of contact, representing the school with professionalism and authority.
Day to Day of the role:
- Implement and act on emergency and safety procedures.
- Manage car park access and ensure the safety of pedestrians.
- Assist with deliveries and cover reception duties when required.
- Perform mailroom and reprographics duties.
- Implement health and safety protocols.
- Patrol and inspect the interior and exterior of the school's facilities.
- Respond to calls for assistance and emergency situations.
- Provide support for events and activities within the school.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Security Supervisor.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and superior observation skills.
- Basic computer literacy with knowledge of MS applications.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required.
- Troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience working under pressure and dealing with challenging situations.
- Willingness to obtain a Valid Door Supervision SIA accredited licence.
- Physical ability to perform the responsibilities of the role.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Door Supervision SIA accredited licence.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience in negotiations and conflict resolution.
- First Aid at Work certification.
