About Us

At Family Action, we transform lives by providing practical, emotional, and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage, and social isolation. We have been building stronger families since 1869, and today we work with more than 60,000 families in over 150 community-based services, as well as supporting thousands more through national programmes and grants.

The Fuel Your Finances project is delivered in Mansfield and Tower Hamlets/Aldgate, working alongside food provision such as FOOD Clubs and Food Stores. The project aims to help low income and vulnerable families to increase their income (or reduce their debt), reduce financial pressures, increase skills and advance skills and knowledge in cooking and energy usage.

We are now looking for a Project Manager to join us on a part-time, temporary basis, working 29.6 hours per week from 1st October 2024 until 31st March 2026.

- Salary of up to 31,073 FTE per annum, plus a £480 per annum homeworking allowance (£22,652 - £24,858.40 per annum for part-time, plus £384 home working allowance pro rata)

The Role

As the Fuel Your Finances Project Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of the Fuel Your Finances project, achieving a range of positive outcomes for low-income and vulnerable families.

You'll implement new services and manage teams across Mansfield and London, developing and executing creative strategies to engage people in the project and support them in reducing their financial pressures and stress and enhancing their wellbeing.

Delivering face-to-face workshops and community activities in a range of settings, you'll provide information, advice and support on issues such as health, income maximisation, budgeting tools and energy efficiency.

Additionally, you will:

- Identify and work with new partners
- Maintain key working relationships with staff and communities
- Manage and maintain the service's referral and booking systems and systems for statistical monitoring
- Ensure accurate records are maintained
- Manage risk to ensure the safeguarding of service users, staff, volunteers and partners

About You

To be considered as a Fuel Your Finances Project Manager, you will need:

- Experience of delivering information, advice and guidance in a relevant field and evidence of a commitment to supporting people facing or experiencing food/fuel poverty
- Experience of managing services which deliver positive outcomes for individuals and their families
- Experience of successfully managing teams working across a wide geographical area
- Experience of setting up new services or projects
- Experience of delivering tailored training/teaching to groups and individuals
- The ability to extract, analyse and interpret data and provide high quality management reports
- Knowledge of health and safety issues
- A recognised Level 3 and above professional qualification (e.g. in social work or social care, health, education) or equivalent experience
