Role Overview
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff to support students with diverse educational needs. You'll assist in the classroom, provide one-on-one and small group support, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support:
- Offer individualised or small group support, assisting in students' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Encourage independent learning and resilience by offering structured activities and personalised guidance.
- Create a nurturing environment that helps boost students' confidence and self-esteem.
Classroom Assistance:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the individual needs of SEN students.
- Help maintain a well-organized, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Monitor and report on student progress, ensuring effective communication with the teaching team.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support students during transitions, breaks, and school outings.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students.
