Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant at our Special Needs School in Macclesfield.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to address the unique needs of each student.
- Support students in developing effective communication and social skills.
- Manage challenging behaviours through positive behaviour management strategies.
- Encourage and facilitate engagement in classroom activities and learning.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special education are advantageous.
