Job Title: Accounting Lead

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as
an Accounting Lead. This role is a Permanent Part-time role and is a unique blend of
accounting responsibilities, and client account reconciliation tasks. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in accounting, strong spreadsheet and
financial troubleshooting abilities and excellent communication skills. ESTHER is a
start up and you may be asked to take part in other responsibilities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Management:

  • Oversee payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Handle pensions and other employee benefits administration.

2. Financial Administration:

  • Manage expenses and reimbursements.
  • Perform general bookkeeping tasks for both UK and US accounts.
  • Track and manage invoices and bills, including sending invoices to clients.
  • We need someone to help us consolidate our UK accounts and our small US subsidiary. Ideally help choose and operate an accounting platform to do this.
  • Liaise with our US Accountants and Tax Advisors.

3. Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and file VAT returns on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist in tax planning and compliance efforts.

4. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate various financial reports for investors, including net income, gross income, and other relevant metrics.
  • Compile financial data for research and development grants, bids, and other ad-hoc requirements.

5. Client Account Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile client accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of client transactions.

6. Automation Advisory:

  • Advise on automation opportunities within our platform to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

7. Client Card Management

  • On occassion to relieve our existing Partnerships Team with client card ordering and card management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in accounting roles, with familiarity in payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of fintech industry trends and technologies is a plus.
  • Part-time availability. Approximately 19-20 hours per week during UK business hours.
