GCSE English Lecturer

Salary: £26.43 - £28.67 per hour
Job Type: Temporary (Full-time & Part-time available)
Reed Further Education is currently seeking dedicated English Lecturers to deliver GCSE level courses at a reputable college in Birmingham. This is a temporary ongoing role commencing in September 2024, with both full-time and part-time hours available. If you have a passion for English literature and language and are committed to providing high-quality teaching, we would love to hear from you.
Day to Day of the role:
- Prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in GCSE English to a diverse range of students.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students on their educational and personal development.
- Develop and utilise a variety of teaching and learning techniques to engage and motivate learners.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and pedagogy in English.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole school training events.
- Be proactive in identifying and supporting students with additional needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A recognised teaching qualification in the relevant subject area.
- Experience teaching GCSE English.
- Strong knowledge of the current curriculum.
- Excellent organisational and communicative skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying teaching schedules.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willing to undergo this procedure).
