Financial Accountant - Entertainment

This is a fantastic, short term contract within a vibrant and highly respected TV production company that produces high-quality content across a variety of genres. This is a fast paced and dynamic company that requires individuals who can think on their feet, work with accuracy and can meet tight deadlines.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & CFO his will be a blend of month end reporting and management accounting, alongside budgeting, forecasting and business partnering

To be a suitable candidate, you will be a fully qualified accountant who has ideally gained your experience from within a TV/Film, Content Production or related company. It is imperative that you have first class interpersonal skills and be able to build strong and healthy relationships with your colleagues. An approachable and friendly nature is required and your ability to go that extra mile whilst also explaining finance in an understandable manner is essential.

The role is required for a period of 3-4 months on a fixed term contract basis to help cover during a busy period.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage the preparation and finalise monthly management accounts
  • Prepare the monthly reporting pack for group stakeholders
  • Business partner department heads on variance to forecast and help drive margins
  • Support with the budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting process, including quarterly reporting pack submissions to the parent company
  • Assist with cashflow forecasting
  • Review monthly production margins prepared by production accountants including revenue recognition

The ideal person:

  • Fully qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent with post qualified experience
  • Experience gained within the TV, Entertainment, Media or similar Creative industry is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, being able to build a rapport and good working relationships with all levels of colleagues
  • Approachable, friendly and comfortable with challenging/championing/influencing others in a positive manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail whilst also being able to see the bigger picture
  • Commercially savvy!
