Art Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive art lessons that cover a range of artistic mediums, techniques, and styles, tailored to the needs and interests of students.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, practical demonstrations, and hands-on art projects to inspire creativity, experimentation, and self-expression in students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive studio environment where students feel empowered to explore their artistic ideas, take risks, and develop their artistic voice.
- Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative assessments, including art portfolios, critiques, and exhibitions, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic growth and development.
- Promote a love for art by introducing students to a wide range of artists, art movements, and cultural traditions, and encouraging them to engage critically with visual culture.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to the wider school community through art exhibitions, workshops, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
- Relevant university degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching art within a UK school setting is preferred, but not essential.
