**Job Description

:

BramahHR are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role involves managing key financial processes to ensure the smooth operation of the business's accounting function. You will be responsible for completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, handling payroll journals, managing VAT returns, and ensuring all inter-company transactions are correctly processed and reconciled.

The position offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to work from home two days a week and enjoy flexible working hours.

**Key Responsibilities

:

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all companies within the group.
  • Post monthly journals for payroll, ensuring accurate and timely entries.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Manage inter-company transactions and ensure timely reconciliations.
  • Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely invoicing and collection across all companies.
  • Provide cover for accounts payable processes as required.
  • Monitor and report on cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations.
  • Reconcile credit card transactions across all companies to ensure accuracy.
  • Support the Accountant with various ad hoc financial tasks as needed.

**Qualifications & Skills

:

  • Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns, and accounts receivable/payable.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
