Our client is a successful manufacturing business, where the HR team deliver a cohesive and robust service to the business. With a proactive approach, the HR function is currently working on EDI, Recruitment process review, Employer Brand and company values.

The HR Officer has a generalist focus and includes developing and supporting HR policies and procedures as well as improving the efficiency of the department. With a 'can-do' attitude, you will work within a supportive and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all employee relations issues with your assigned area
  • Update and review procedures, standard letters and forms to ensure compliance to new employment legislation
  • Manage and maintain time and attendance
  • Proactively manage long term sickness and assist Supervisors and Managers with short term sickness
  • Co-manage the Occupational Health provision
  • Involvement in a range of HR projects, as outlined above
  • Manage and support recruitment activities up to Supervisor/Engineer level positions
  • Assist with the management of the recruitment agency for the provision of shopfloor labour
  • Maintain all job description and personal specifications
  • Assist with improving the efficiency of the department through streamlining processes
  • Produce department statistics as required
  • Provide training and coaching for Line Managers on HR policy and procedures
  • Support wellbeing and community initiatives

Experience needed

  • Employee relations casework including supporting disciplinary and grievance casework
  • CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience
  • Ability to coach and support managers
