EA First have exclusively partnered with a Global Distribution business in their search for a Head of Operations - Healthcare. The business has experienced significant growth over the last 3 years and continue to attract blue-chip clients along the way.

As Head of Operations - Healthcare you will be responsible for driving the operational agenda for the Healthcare division based in Northampton.

  • Ensure the smooth running of the operations including financial management, performance management and H&S.
  • Provide strong visible leadership in order to ultimately manage all staff through performance, management and training
  • Manage the product, the clients and the customer's customers from the point the product enters the facility until it arrives at its ultimate destination.
  • Ensure cases handled, labour turnover, customer service levels, carrier management and profitability are measured through continuous improvement in KPIs.
  • Performance review internally of site and business, along with customers' expectations against targets achieved.
  • Constantly review, communicate and improve performance, both business and customer
  • Responsible for profit and loss and budget setting for the site.
  • Leadership of all aspects of Health & Safety compliance
  • Act as a champion to all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across the workforce
  • Effectively communicate across all departments and sites, actively involving the workforce through regular reviews and management meetings and head office reporting
  • Maintain a high standard of repair and maintenance both of the fabric of the building and of all equipment
  • A minimum of 5+ years Logistics experience at General Manager or Head of Operations level - Essential.
  • Previous experience within Healthcare, Pharma, Life Sciences or Medical Devices - Essential.
  • Experience of managing budgets of up to £3M - £5m pa.
  • Experience of project managing and leading a start up operation would be a distinct advantage.
  • You will be confident and able to build rapport, develop relationships with customers both internal and external.
  • You will be able to recognise opportunities and synergies to enhance the relationship with the customer and be able to maintain and develop business growth opportunities.
  • You must have the energy, determination and commitment to operate in an environment where regular customer contact and scrutiny is the norm and the highest level of customer service is non-negotiable.
  • Have managed in excess of 200+ employees indirectly.
  • You should be able to demonstrate skills in the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives using lean processes.
  • IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications.
  • Experience of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies would be advantageous.
  • Some exposure to working with Automation would be advantageous.
  • Prince2 methodologies would be advantageous.
  • Must be commutable to and from Northampton.

£80,000 - £90,000 + competitive benefits package.
