Area Sales Manager

An opportunity has arisen for an Area Sales Manager to join a globally leading supplier of plants, equipment, automation solutions and services for hydropower stations, the pulp and paper industry, the metalworking and steel industries, as well as environmental and green energy-focused sectors.

Since its foundation 172 years ago, it has developed into a Group with approximately 30,000 employees, and more than 280 locations in over 80 countries worldwide. They are looking for someone to sell service, repairs, spare parts, upgrades, maintenance contracts and frameworks for the company product installed base, or similar products supplied by competitors into the industrial markets.

What you'll do as Area Sales Manager:

  • Achieve agreed annual and monthly order intake and gross margin targets.
  • Minimum 20 customer visits per month; >75% of working days customer-facing.
  • Achieve outcomes agreed in annual performance reviews.
  • Focus on winning new key accounts / service contract-based business
  • Manage and retain existing customer base – exercise customer relationship management
  • Sell the whole service product range into the industrial markets.
  • Develop customer strategies.
  • Work closely with the service sales support team, and with the Engineering Department,

to produce good quality and timely quotations and tenders.

  • Maintain sales opportunity, client, installed base information up to date via CRM.
  • Attend Group meetings as required e.g. Service Team meetings.

We're looking for an Area Sales Manager with:

  • Experience from a similar position.
  • Sales experience
  • Willing to drive to meetings (from Midlands to Leeds, Manchester)
  • Good IT-skills
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Dynamic and has high drive.
