A leading Educational institute are hiring for a Faculty Officer to join them on a 4 month contract.
In line with our 10 Year Strategic Vision, the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences has established several strategic initiatives to provide a focus for the development of collaborative research and education across the Faculty and the university more broadly.
Role:
To support the development of the Faculty's strategic initiatives; UCL Anthropocene, Heath Mind and Society (HMS) and Social Data institute (SODA) by developing and enacting operational plans, organising seminars and workshops, developing and maintaining networks inside and beyond the organisations, publicising the work of the initiatives and their members, and disseminating information to all relevant stakeholders across a variety of media platforms and events.
On a day-to-day basis, the post-holder will work closely with the Faculty Initiative Leads on a range of initiatives and projects, using knowledge of activities across the sector and networking with staff and students to advise on the nature of these.
- Arrange and service a wide range of meetings and committees including working groups and other meetings relating to the initiatives.
- Supporting early career researchers, and PGR and PGT students to participate in the initiatives.
- Supporting members of initiatives in the development of collaborative UG and PGT courses, CPD course and the SODA internship programme.
- Be the point of contact for Media Relations, Publications and Marketing Services, the International Office and other relevant units
- Lead and maintain digital communications channels, including website and social media platforms.
- Drafting and editing content, translating academic research into accessible content for dissemination.
- Leading on the production, editing, delivery and evaluation of communication strategies and platforms across all areas of activities.
- Events support, planning and management such as public lectures or seminars, other public and private events or conferences including virtual events.
- Measuring and evaluating the impact of events among key audiences through analytical and qualitative methods.
- Point of contact for events that initiative staff are involved with at UCL, to advise on how best to incorporate initiative brand and prominence into other events.
- Track progress of the initiatives and provide reporting as appropriate.
