Behavior Mentor

Do you have a passion for working with young people? Do you feel you could make a real difference to student's lives? Tradewind Recruitment is working with a secondary school in Wandsworth, South-west London which requires a Behaviour Mentor for a September start. You will be supporting students with behaviour needs, keeping them on task, supporting them socially and emotionally.

This role would suit a confident individual, ideally with prior experience in a similar behaviour mentoring position. You will need to be understanding but also firm. You will need to have strong Admin skills, ideally some SIMS knowledge to log progress reports for the students.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely 121 in class
  • Providing a visible presence in the school to ensure that positive behaviour is consistent
  • Ensure that low level disruption is not tolerated, and that good behaviour is promoted at all times
  • Manage and de-escalate behaviour incidents and offer ways to self-regulate challenging incidents
  • Making sure that classwork is carried out when students are in the isolation room
  • Monitoring detention sessions

This is a term time only position, starting in September, until the end of the academic year, July 2025. The hours are 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday. The daily rate is £90-£95 per day depending on experience.
