Salary- £30,000- £46,000 dependant on experience

From simple improvements to huge leaps, the impact a special education teacher can have on a student can truly be life-changing. Horizon Teachers are recruiting for a permanent Special Needs Teacher to work in a SEN school in Birmingham. The school is a special school for 310 pupils aged between 2 and 19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities including PMLD, cognition and learning needs and autism. The right candidate for this role will have high levels of patience, be reliable and have an ability to lead exciting and engaging classes to pupils.

The class is a class of 8 pupils, from ages 6 years old - 11 years old, with mixed abilities. There are 3 experienced Teaching Assistants also present in the class to offer support to pupils and the class teacher.

Key Skills Required

  • Hold a nationally recognised degree and relevant qualified teaching status (QTS)
  • Have proven experience of teaching in a primary setting
  • Be experienced working within an SEN setting although not essential
  • Have experience of planning, delivering and teaching lessons to a good or outstanding level
