Supported Living Co-ordinator

You will be working for a not-for-profit housing organisation whose vision is to support and encourage individuals using their services to tap into their ambitions and aspirations and make something positive out of their situation. They are looking for a Supported Living Coordinator to work part-time (30 hours per week) supporting their Bridgend region. Salary is £25528 per annum.

Your New Role

  • Deliver high quality management across a portfolio of supported properties
  • Monitor and coordinate management contracts ensuring the highest quality of service is delivered;
  • Support the Older Persons Team Leader and Head of Housing to bring new business opportunities to work with support providers;
  • Build, develop and maintain positive working relationships with support providers and the Local Authority;
  • To act as the first point of contact for queries relating to supported properties;
  • You will work within the Company's Equal Opportunities policy and Health and Safety policy, ensuring that these are complied with throughout all customer services within the scope of this role;
  • To ensure that all activities undertaken are carried out to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, including adhering to Confidentiality and Data Protection issues.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring homes comply with health and safety legislation and good practice and being a contact for third parties who need access to the buildings to support with this upkeep.
  • Carry out risk assessments
  • Ensure records are kept up to date and accurate
  • Work in partnership with housing colleagues to focus on restorative practices
  • Contribute to wider company service improvement initiatives
  • Act as an advocate for customers with internal departments and external contractors
  • Maintain performance records and clear reporting
  • Support the management of the community living team

What you need to succeed

  • 4 GCSE's (or equivalent) preferably including English or Welsh and Maths;
  • A qualification relevant to the post such as a recognised housing qualification is desirable or relevant HNC/HND or demonstrable relevant employment experience;
  • Knowledge of services provided by housing associations;
  • Be conversant with H&S practices and have taken/be prepared to undertake an H&S IOSH course;
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential;
  • A DBS is required to perform this role.
  • Experience of working in the housing profession, specifically dealing with supported housing and with knowledge of housing management issues including dealing with ASB, tenancy conditions;
  • Experience of relationship management with 3rd sector support providers contract management within a housing context;
  • Experience of managing support contracts and working with a range of stakeholders;
  • Experience of working within a customer-focused environment;
  • Experience of negotiating responsibilities for management agreements and leases with the managing agent;

Evidence of understanding of the boundaries between House Management and Property Management.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in speech and writing;
  • Ability to engage positively with clients, exchanging information and clarifying needs;
  • Remains diplomatic and confidential;
  • Have the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate to achieve positive outcomes, across a range of stakeholders;
