Repairs & Maintenance Manager - University

Duration: 6-month fixed-term contract (with potential for secondment)

**The Role:

My client a well-known group of universities near Cambridge is seeking a Repairs & Maintenance Manager for an exciting 6-month opportunity.

You will be at the forefront of ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest standards, reflecting the prestige University

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Instigate Orders: Authorise and approve variation price works from agreed Schedules of Rates (SoR's), providing technical support to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Order Approvals: Review and approve high-value orders and variations, ensuring all completed works meet our standards before invoicing.
  • Quality Assurance: Lead quality assurance efforts, share site visit responsibilities, and manage inspection requests to maintain our high standards.
  • Works Delivery: Oversee the timely completion of works, monitoring progress through weekly Work In Progress (WIP) reports.
  • Contractor Management: Enforce the Contractor code of conduct and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and lead meetings to manage contractor performance.
  • Complaint and Query Lead: Handle all repair-related complaints, serving as the escalation point for the repairs and void teams.

**About You:

  • Qualifications: HND or equivalent in construction or building studies.
  • Experience: Proven track record in specifying repairs and void works.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction techniques and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication abilities with the power to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • License: Full UK Driving Licence.
