Quantity Surveyor - Civil Works - Norwich
Are you a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Civil Engineering
We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented individual to join our team in Norwich, working on a range of exciting and challenging projects involving highway improvements, maintenance, and associated civil works.
About the Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful financial management and delivery of our projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and maintaining accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for civil works projects.
- Managing and negotiating contracts with sub-contractors and suppliers for both disciplines.
- Monitoring project costs and identifying potential cost overruns for civil works components.
- Implementing effective cost control measures for both highways and civil works projects.
- Preparing and analyzing cost reports and providing regular updates to the project team and stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant contractual and legal requirements.
- Assisting with the measurement and valuation of works for civil works.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civil works such as drainage, earthworks, and site preparation.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and methods.
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in cost management software and tools (e.g., CostX, Asite).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS) is desirable.
