Our Client are a rapidly expanding Building Services, Engineering and Construction Company seeking a well-organised, adaptable and proactive Accounts Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified and have a strong working knowledge of Xero Accounting Software, along with experience in PAYE, VAT returns, and the NEST Pension Scheme.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for finance-related queries.
  • Process purchase invoices and payments with accuracy.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and prepare financial statements/reports.
  • Manage credit control and maintain accurate sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Ensure customer and supplier invoices are accurate and follow up with customers to clear invoices for payment.
  • Prepare monthly applications and resolve queries related to outstanding invoices.
  • Follow standardised processes within the Accounts Department to support business objectives.
  • Provide general administration support, including scanning and filing.
  • Assist with any other duties as requested by Management to ensure the efficient running of the Accounts Department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • AAT Qualified (Level 2/3 preferable).
  • Good working knowledge of Xero Accounting Software.
  • Experience in PAYE, VAT returns, and the NEST Pension Scheme.
  • Competent understanding of bank reconciliation.
  • Skilled in credit and debt management.
  • Proficient in processing invoices onto Xero, including project allocation.
  • Experience with applications for payment, payment certificates, and invoicing.
  • Capable of handling credit and debt queries via email and telephone.
  • Experience working with a Procurement Manager to process and place orders.
  • Administrative support skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
