Public Affairs Executive

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity within Public Affairs then this could be the role for you! Offered on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, our client is looking for a new team member, this role is pivotal in supporting the Public Affairs department to ensure the company's corporate reputation and commercial interests are safeguarded through a variety of Public Affairs activities and programs. You will assist the Public Affairs Manager by spearheading stakeholder engagement in Westminster, addressing priority issues such as taxation, product regulation, and upcoming legislation. A key aspect of this role involves establishing and maintaining a cross-party network of political stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include developing relationships with new political stakeholders while managing existing contacts. You will aid in delivering key messages on priority issues through internal and external partner engagement, including parliamentary and third-party events, party conferences, and ad-hoc events. Externally, you will support the company's agenda with selected third parties, including trade associations, think tanks, NGOs, and other groups. Additionally, you will provide support to the wider Corporate Affairs team on any ad-hoc projects as required.

The Skills You'll Need:

  • A good standard of education, including GCSEs; a degree is desirable
  • At least 2 years of experience in Public Affairs, with a detailed understanding and working knowledge of Westminster and parliamentary processes
  • Familiarity with a commercial environment and the issues faced by multinational corporations is desirable
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Solid business understanding
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities
