Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established Widnes-based two-form entry mainstream primary school in Widnes as they are looking to recruit a teaching assistant to support a female pupil with SEN on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time, long-term contract that will last the full academic year.
Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting a young girl in year 2 with moderate SEN on a 1:1 basis. You will be this pupils' main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate and walking them back to their parent/guardian at the end of the school day. You will support them throughout the school day, offering intervention and booster sessions in core subjects, actively encouraging them to part-take in learning material so that they reach their full academic potential, and offer speech and language therapy. As well as academic requirements, you will be required to administer a dermal cream throughout the day.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting children and young people, as well as:
- Experience working with SEN
- Experience delivering phonics and booster sessions
- Be willing to commit to a full-time, long-term contract
