Vehicle Assembly Technician

We are seeking skilled Assembly Technicians with experience in vehicle assembly and testing to join our cutting-edge facility in Merthyr Tydfil. We offer fixed-term contract opportunities - 9 and 24 months.

In these roles, you will work with precise specifications, procedures, schematics, and engineering drawings on projects vital to the MOD. You'll contribute to mission-focused innovation and performance excellence, working on unique and highly specialized equipment. Our facility is one of the few in the UK where this caliber of work is performed.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Assembly Technician, Armoured Vehicle Technician, Aircraft Assembly Technician, or similar role.
  • Proficient in setting up and performing quality and performance testing.
  • Ability to work from written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Skilled in using hand tools and measuring equipment with high accuracy.
  • Capable of collaborating with test support, engineering, and quality functions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to self-inspect work to ensure quality.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of "clean as you go"/6S/FOD/Tool control programs is essential.
  • Familiar with quality inspection points and process documentation.
  • High level of health and safety awareness.
  • Strong team player with the ability to take direction well.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a continual pursuit of perfection.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
