English Language Tutor - Group Sessions

Integra Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced English Teacher or Tutor to deliver engaging GCSE English Language (Resit) lessons to a group of students in the Flint area.

This role will involve supporting a group of 16 sixth-form students, who are currently expecting to resit their GCSE English language exams in November.

We are looking for a tutor to deliver 2 x 1-hour sessions on the 17th and 18th of October from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM, with additional sessions the following week, leading up to the exams.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Delivering Lessons: Create focused, engaging lesson plans tailored to GCSE English Language resit students, ensuring content is relevant to the exam specification and addresses areas of improvement.
  • Providing Exam Preparation: Deliver effective revision sessions, focusing on key topics, exam techniques, and answering past paper questions to build students' confidence and readiness for the resit.
  • Assessing Student Progress: Monitor and assess the performance of students during the sessions, providing feedback and identifying any areas where additional support is required.
  • Supporting Individual Needs: Recognize the varied needs of the students, offering differentiated support to ensure that all learners, regardless of their ability, are able to make progress.
  • Boosting Confidence and Motivation: Encourage and motivate students who may feel discouraged by their previous exam results, helping them develop a positive mindset towards their upcoming resit.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the school's teaching staff to align tutoring sessions with the students' curriculum and the overall goals of the English department.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Tutoring Experience: A recognized teaching qualification or significant experience in tutoring English Language at GCSE level, especially with resit students.
  • Strong Knowledge of GCSE English Curriculum: A thorough understanding of the GCSE English Language syllabus, exam structure, and assessment criteria, including strategies to improve student performance in resits.
  • Proven Track Record: Experience in successfully preparing students for GCSE English Language exams, particularly in helping students improve from previous grades.
  • Student-Centred Approach: Experience working with students of varying abilities, particularly those needing extra support and motivation to achieve their full potential.
  • Availability: Must be available for the specified session times on the 17th and 18th of October, with further availability in the following week before the exams.
  • Enhanced DBS Check: A current Enhanced DBS on the update service (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one, ensuring the safety and well-being of students
