Desktop Support Engineer

Desktop Support Technician – Belfast - £Negotiable

REED Technology are delighted to partner with a global manufacturing organisation who are seeking to recruit a Desktop Support Engineers to join their team on a temporary ongoing basis

The role involves the following activities:

  • Build and issue of Dell Laptops to end users to include:

  • Software installations as required

  • Advise on basic device operation & peripherals

  • Connection to the network through wired connection or Wifi

  • Connection remotely through VPN tunnel as required

  • Build and installation of Dell Desktops/workstations and peripherals at users desks onsite

  • Installation & basic support for End user devices such as Printers , Chart recorders, RFID readers, SGM guns and engaging with 3rd party support vendors as required for installations or troubleshooting

  • Breakfix support for Laptops & Desktops & peripherals running Windows OS. While majority are on Win 10 there are also devices running on lower windows OS that support legacy business applications

  • Engagement with other IT teams Applications, Infrastructure & network as required to support EUD installations & breakfix

  • Manual Software installations from various media. While most are Win10 , Win 7 & WinXP devices are in operation for legacy applications

  • Support of users working remotely using remote desktop support tools

Knowledge of the following systems & tools is essential:

  • Windows operating systems Win 10 & preferably windows 7 and to lesser extent windows XP
  • Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Active Directory
  • MS System Center Configuration Manager
  • Remote Desktop

The candidates must have a current driver's license to travel for transportation of IT equipment & call outs to the company sites located across Belfast.
