Litigation Fee-Earner

We are seeking a Litigation Fee-Earner to join our Landlord and Tenant Litigation Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the department's caseload, including contentious and defended matters. This role is perfect for someone with paralegal/fee-earning experience in civil litigation, preferably in dispute resolution or landlord and tenant matters.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Undertake fee-earning work with supervision and contribute to the landlord and tenant department.
- Gain technical experience to handle defended and complex cases, particularly those allocated to the fast track and/or multi-track.
- Draft documents and comply with court directions and orders.
- Work towards independently managing smaller matters and providing effective support on larger matters.
- Correspond with clients and other parties as directed.
- Liaise with clients regarding the status of cases.
- Issue possession claims using the online system.
- Complete manual court applications, including possession and warrant applications.
- Provide instructions to advocates and counsel.
- Produce notices seeking possession.
- Update case management information spreadsheets.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in civil litigation, with a preference for dispute resolution or landlord and tenant matters.
- Good knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation procedures.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Organised and able to work on their own initiative.
- Confident in a small team environment and able to work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to be creative and adapt in a new enterprise.
