A well-established SME in the construction industry, known for their commitment to quality and reliability. The business is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join the team and play a key role in managing the finance operations.
The Role
This is a dynamic, standalone accounts role covering all core accounting functions. You will be responsible for:
Managing the purchase and sales ledgers, credit control, and bank reconciliations
Preparing and posting journals
Completing VAT and CIS returns
Ensure all information has been entered for month end to produce P&L and balance sheet figures.
Processing weekly payroll (approximately one day per week)
The company uses Sage Line 50/200 and Eque2 Costing software, so experience with the systems is a plus.
Key Requirements
Solid experience in an accounts role, ideally within the construction or a related industry
Experience is valued over formal qualifications, though AAT Level 3 or 4 is desirable
Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, bank reconciliations, VAT/CIS returns, and payroll
Comfortable working independently and taking full responsibility for accounting functions
Working Hours
Hours are flexible and can be discussed to suit the right candidate. Typical hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, or 8:30am - 5:00pm, with a 3:00pm finish on Fridays.
Remuneration
Competitive, based on experience and qualifications, with a range of £30,000 - £35,000.
