Group Finance Manager

Our client is a leading logistics firm with full-service operations across the world providing delivery options for high value items.

Due to continued growth and acquisitions they are seeking to hire a Group Finance Manager to help simplify group structure and to ensure that its efficient and transparent on an ongoing basis. Beyond that the incumbent will ensure they are Companies House and HMRC compliant by working closely with colleagues in legal and finance and with our relevant external advisers.

Duties

  • Prepare UK subsidiary statutory accounts for filing - including writing non-trader accounts in house, tagging other accounts to reduce third party costs
  • Responsible for filing all UK companies' returns at Companies House and with HMRC. This would include changing directors, filing accounts and other filings as required.
  • Audit support - ensuring information is promptly supplied to the auditors
  • Provide tax support for the group (compliance with filing deadlines, group elections, ensuring losses are utilized and figures supplied promptly and accurately to external tax advisers).
  • Providing regulatory support for new acquisitions, especially outside the UK and US.
  • Responsible ensuring that our tax documentation is complete and accurate in respect of inter-company loans and transfer pricing.
  • Bank liaison - ensuring signatory mandates are up to date, management of card readers, accounts opened closed as needed, group log of accounts.
  • Ensure credit cards are properly managed in terms of credit limits, new and departing employees.
  • Reducing the number of trading companies and leading on the closure of dormant and non-traders without loss to simplify our group structure and reduce third party and internal costs.

Key Competencies

  • You will be fully ACA, CIMA, ACCA or CGI qualified with previous experience in a large group business.
  • Good Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills to communicate and present financial information clearly.
  • You will have strong company secretarial, accounting, basic banking and tax experience.
  • You'll have demonstrable experience of successfully working in a large group with all the stakeholder, tax, legal and financial complexity that that involves
