This role involves managing both pre-litigation and litigated housing disrepair claims. You will advocate for tenants seeking redress for disrepair issues in their rental properties, ensuring that landlords fulfil their legal obligations for property maintenance and repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling a caseload of housing disrepair claims at both pre-litigation and litigation stages.
- Advising clients (tenants) on their legal rights and options throughout the pre-litigation and litigation processes.
- Drafting and preparing legal documents including claims, witness statements, and settlement agreements for both pre-litigation and court proceedings.
- Negotiating with landlords, housing associations, and local authorities to resolve issues before litigation or achieve favourable outcomes if the case proceeds to court.
