Your new role
Working closely with the organisation's onsite Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance function to ensure that the management and group reporting is produced to the highest level of integrity, in accordance with the latest accounting standards and government legislation. Additionally, you'll maintain a strong controlled environment while supporting the business in achieving sales and EBIT growth. Furthermore, you'll provide insightful and timely reporting on sales, margin, EBIT, working capital, and cashflow.The successful candidate will have management responsibilities both directly and as cover for the AR & AP Manager, also supporting the development of the wider finance team.
Key responsibilities for this Finance Business Partner role include:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of stock holding, including stock provision, analysing trends and setting deliverable actions. Supporting the business to meet stock reduction targets.
  • Providing financial and commercial analysis and opinion to support the day-to-day decision-making.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact and liaison with internal and external auditors, maintaining excellent relationships. Ensuring any audit recommendations are actioned and implemented
  • Providing positive leadership that continuously develops the financial activities and finance team, embedding a continuous improvement culture.
  • Daily/weekly/monthly reporting as required for sales, margin, EBIT and cash. Providing insightful commentary and highlighting any variances.
  • Working closely with other areas of the business (IT, Finance, Sales, and Operations) to ensure the integrity, reliability, and accuracy of system data, and supporting sales and EBIT growth.
  • Ensuring strong financial governance through effective controls within the financial processes, improving or introducing new processes where applicable.
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly/annual business unit forecasts and budgets, including sales trends, margin impacts, new product initiatives, growth targets and overheads.
  • Reviewing all financial reporting processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of internal reporting.
  • Deputising for the Finance Director as required.
  • Maintaining high levels of communication across all departments and excellent collaboration ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements

Qualified Accountant or nearing qualification with experience in working in a similar capacityHighest levels of professional standards, integrity and confidentialityThe ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesTeam player who motivates and develops direct reports and other team membersStrong MS Office, a proficient user of Excel is essential.Commercial acumen with a mind-set for continuous improvementThe ability to manage projects from initiation to completion and review Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to produce results in a team environment In depth knowledge of latest financial standardsExcellent analytical skills and ability to assimilate data from various sources and synthesise inputs into actionable plans Enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactiveExperience and a successful track record of working in a financial control environment
