We are currently seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Assistants to work in both SEN and mainstream schools across Havant, Waterlooville and Portsmouth. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, Behavioural and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to help students improve their behaviour and self-regulation.
- Assist teachers and staff in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to create and implement individual behaviour plans.
- Document and track student progress.
- Attend training sessions and professional development to enhance your skills.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people with SEN and managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students with SEN.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willing to apply.
