A successful product design company who supply their products to thousands of leading retailers worldwide are looking for a Responsible Sourcing Coordinator to join their Product team. This is a 14 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, and is a great opportunity to join a successful & creative consumer product company.

You will play a key role in ensuring this company's global manufacturing base is sourcing responsibly, that sustainability requirements are met, and the best possible production base is place for the company. The successful candidate will be super organised, proactive, and have a love of product and a genuine interest in sustainability. You will have some experience working within a business who manufacturers products internationally, be a great team player, and have a desire to work with a creative business to deliver its goals. This is a great company who have a fantastic team and offer lots of opportunity for growth and progression.

Duties in this Responsible Sourcing Coordinator role include:

Sustainability:

  • Assist the product development team with sustainability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Support on sustainability requirements and factory capabilities, ensuring both customer and internal requirements are met
  • Review and approve artworks
  • Work on internal sustainability projects and business goals
  • Assist with planning and running sustainability events

Social Compliance

  • Review and maintain all supplier audits, ensuring minimum requirements are met and exceeded
  • Action the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensure manuals and operating procedures are in line with the Ethical Trading Initiative code
  • Work on corrective action plans and review procedures for their continuous improvement program

Customer Compliance

  • Review customer manuals to understand requirements for all global customers
  • Work with factories for all customer factory audits. Including documentation, arranging visits, support and correct action plans
  • Work with external teams in preparation for customer factory audits

FSC

  • Upload all FSC artwork for trademark approval
  • Complete timber tracing forms for both customers and internally
  • Supporting the Responsible Sourcing Manager with projects and process improvements as required

Skills & experience required:

  • Some experience working within a consumer products business, an operational function, or working with global manufacturers would be ideal
  • Excellent attention to detail, accurate, super organised and deadline driven
  • A genuine passion for product and retail is a must
  • Good Excel skills, must be able to use VLOOKUPs
  • A natural people person and excellent communicator, at all levels, both internally and externally
  • A deadline driven approach, someone who can prioritise workloads effectively
  • Thrives working as part of a great team and has a genuine desire to learn, develop and grow within this position
