We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Assistant to support our finance department by performing various accounting tasks. This role is key to ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations and is crucial for maintaining the financial health of our company.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Utilise Job Logic to gather data for raising invoices and valuations as required.
  • Maintain accurate Purchase ledger and Sales ledger functions, including scanning and filing documents.
  • Prepare financial documents such as invoices, bills, accounts payable, and receivable.
  • Enter financial information into appropriate software programs.
  • Verify balances in account books and rectify discrepancies.
  • Verify bank deposits and report on creditors.
  • Encode accounting entries for data processing.
  • Sort financial documents and post them to the appropriate accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts.
  • Maintain and update financial records and databases.
  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims.
  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Handle queries from suppliers and clients regarding payments and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Perform other administrative and accounting duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Achieved or working towards a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Ability to establish good relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills and MS Office skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Responds well to deadlines.
  • Desire and willingness to learn new concepts and approaches.
  • Previous experience using Job Logic (or similar CAFM system) would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
