The Associate General Counsel is required to provide expert legal advice, support and guidance to a growing organisation in the green energy space.

Description

To provide efficient, pro-active and commercially robust support to internal clients, in particular in relation to:

  • Legal advice regarding the negotiation of commercial contracts and corporate activities.
  • Advise on a broad range of legal matters, including contracts, transactions, regulations, claims and litigation. Work anticipated to include international projects and interactions, in particular Europe.
  • Corporate governance and compliance support, including support regarding the implementation and management of internal corporate compliance policy and associated processes and controls.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and supporting the negotiation of commercial contracts and other agreements relating to the client's operations and activities. Procurement and supply chain contracts are included within the scope of activity.
  • Advise core corporate functions as needed in particular Finance.
  • Advice and support in relation to investment and property related matters.
  • Lead development and implementation of corporate standards regarding template contract documentation and processes.
  • Corporate compliance matters including anti-bribery and corruption, modern slavery and privacy law and regulation.

Profile

England & Wales qualified lawyer/solicitor or Qualifed in a common law jurisdiction

Previous experience in an in-house role, preferable with energy sector experience.

To have either a Corporate or Commercial background, whether coming from private practice or in-house.

Job Offer
