Job Description: Commercial Account Handler

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Overview:

An exciting opportunity is available within the Restructuring & Resolution team of a leading insurance broker. The successful candidate will broker a wide variety of risks subject to insolvency processes. As a Case Manager, you will have additional account handling responsibilities, placing and managing risks with scheme and open market insurers across multiple classes of cover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation: Create comprehensive client and broking documents as required.
  • Quotes and Endorsements: Obtain quotes, indications, and endorsements.
  • Technical Duties: Perform data entry, credit control, bordereau production, and chase subjectivities.
  • Insurance Programme Planning: Assist in planning the most appropriate insurance programme for clients' demands and needs.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with markets, clients, and colleagues.
  • Contract Management: Maintain ongoing delegated authority contracts appropriately and cost-effectively.
  • Client Transactions: Handle client quote requests, placements, renewals, and mid-term adjustments with full transparency and accuracy.

About You:

  • Experience: Ideally 2+ years of commercial insurance experience; training will be provided in Restructuring & Resolution Insurance.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, influencing, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Professionalism: Professional, personable, and eager to learn.
  • IT Literacy: Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to multitask, plan own workload, and maintain strong attention to detail under pressure.
  • Qualifications: CERT CII level or above, or progression towards professional qualifications is desired.
