Reed Food & FMCG are recruiting a Technical/General Manager to join a packaging company in Gloucester. My client is a forward-thinking company dedicated to delivering top-quality, sustainably packaged products. Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the packaging facility, ensuring efficient operations.
- Lead the production and technical teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement production strategies to meet quality, safety, and delivery targets.
- Ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, and other relevant food safety and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and packaging lines.
- Manage budgets, resources, and key performance indicators (KPIs) effectively.
- Collaborate with commercial and supply chain teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within food manufacturing, ideally in fresh produce or FMCG.
- Strong technical knowledge of food safety, quality systems, and packaging machinery.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on approach with a focus on process improvement and innovation.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as BRC, HACCP, etc.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in food science, engineering, or business.
