Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Officer to join their dynamic team. What you'll do:

As an Interim Procurement Officer, you will play a central role in managing the procurement requirements across the organisation. You will be responsible for supporting all procurement work, ensuring that decisions are taken at the right level in line with our scheme of delegation. Your role will involve managing end-to-end procurement exercises in line with policies and procedures, reviewing tender documents, building relationships with stakeholders, providing advice on procurement issues, setting up new suppliers, and taking responsibility for matrix management duties.

  • Support the Commission's tendering, purchasing, contracting and contract management
  • Review and amend tender documents and draft contractual documents
  • Build relationships both internally and externally with key procurement related stakeholders
  • Provide advice and guidance on the procurement of goods and services to managers
  • Set up new suppliers and upload verified payment details
  • Take responsibility for matrix management duties when individuals from other teams are allocated specific procurement tasks

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Interim Procurement Officer position will bring significant experience from a procurement environment within the public sector or a similar organisation. You will have managed end-to-end tender procedures and have a working knowledge of public sector procurement regulations. Proficiency in various ICT applications is essential for this role. Your ability to research complex information, identify critical evidence, make persuasive recommendations, along with your effective organisational skills will set you apart.

  • Experience of working in a procurement environment in the public sector or similar organisation
  • Experience of managing end-to-end tender procedures
  • Working knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and controls
  • Proficiency in a variety of ICT applications including electronic tendering systems, purchase to pay systems, Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Ability to research, examine complex information, identify critical evidence and make persuasive credible recommendations
  • Effective organisational and planning skills
