We are on the lookout for an individual with a proactive mindset, a keen eye for detail, and a pragmatic approach to join our Operations department at The Core at Corby Cube as a Maintenance & Facilities Attendant.

In this full-time position, you will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and development of our premises and facilities.

We are specifically seeking someone adept with hand and power tools, with experience in plumbing, carpentry, general maintenance, or decorating and a willingness to acquire additional skills and knowledge.

Job Purpose

  • To play a key role in the upkeep, maintenance, and development of The Core's premises, building facilities, and equipment through direct practical provision and use of contractors.
  • To assist in the practical implementation of the Operations departments' strategies, policies and procedures.

Key Task Areas

  • Carry out practical maintenance, upkeep, and development works on the Core's premises, facilities, and equipment, ensuring logs and paperwork are completed and filed.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating contractor bookings, their fulfilment of PPM, repairs and installations, and supervising contractors, assisting when required.
  • Carry out and log specified building, H&S, environmental, and accessibility checks.
  • Strive for venue improvement through collaboration with Operations colleagues.
  • Assist the Operations departments with sourcing, comparing, and ordering products and services.
  • Take receipt of deliveries and assist with moving equipment and assets around the organisation's premises.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and new safe working practices and adhere to them.
  • Prepare spaces, equipment, furniture, and the format of rooms ready for use.
  • If a suitable licence allows, drive any Theatre vehicles when required.

Essential Skills

Experience

  • Experience in a similar role or experience of the elements required to fulfil this role.
  • Experience in lifting and moving heavy loads.

Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Plumbing
  • Basic understanding of electrics

  • Good understanding of the safe and effective use of power and hand tools
  • Understanding of the necessity of high standards of venue presentation

Experience

  • Worked within a theatre or an organisation with public-facing premises
  • Maintenance and fault-finding on a range of electrical items
