Are you an established Head of HR with plenty of international HR experience?

Are you looking for an opportunity to be the first HR hire and help modernise a successful business that has experienced impressive growth?

I am working on a retained basis, to support an international SME business, in search for their first Head of HR appointment. This organisation are the fastest growing, independent operators in their field, and have experienced impressive growth, both from a UK and international perspective. The head office is based near Warrington, with further offices across Hong Kong, South Africa, Australia and Europe. The role is supporting c110 employees across these regions, and would require regular travel to European offices, with ad-hoc travel to sites further afield.

You will be working with an ambitious and creative C-suite, who have big plans to extend their current product range and expand their geographical presence. However, following a period of rapid growth, they understand now is the time to invest in their people and processes.

The role is a standalone position, reporting into the CFO and working closely with the C-suite and Senior Leaders across the business. It's a blank canvas in need of some basic HR processes putting in place, as well as someone that can support them in creating the first ever people agenda. Over time, the role will introduce the likes of Engagement, Succession Planning, Training & Development, Talent & Performance Management and support with international expansion.

So, what's the role?

Initial key deliverables...

  • Build a people strategy that identifies key HR pillars to focus on over the next 3-5 years to help support the wider business agenda
  • Design and deliver an international HR compliance plan, reviewing contracts, people processes, right to work, international mandatory pay & benefits overview etc.
  • Source and onboard a global HR service provider to support international employment law queries
  • Consolidate Payroll service provider
  • Support expansion into new territories globally
  • Review current recruitment activity and support on international new hires
  • Deliver on BAU international HR generalist activity, including ER, recruitment, performance management, absence etc.

Future opportunity...

  • Build a people plan that identifies opportunities to deliver HR initiatives to drive retention, focusing on culture, succession planning, engagement, training & development.
  • Support future expansion plans globally and locally
  • Build and deliver an org design plan to better support the future growth of the business
  • Deliver organisational development activity to contribute to the continuous improvement and overall commercial success of the business
  • Build and deliver talent and performance management processes
